I
married Mary J. McKinney in 1963. She
was a 1961 graduate of White Deer high school.
I graduated college in 1964.
We have 2 boys and, subsequently, 3 grandchildren (2 boys and 1
girl). I
was a teacher and high school coach for 4 years - 2 years in San Saba and
2 years in Pampa high school.
Then I spent 25 years in the insurance business - property,
casualty and life - and ended that career in sales management.
Then I changed professions to become self employed in new home
construction for 6 years. Mary
and I built our retirement home outside of Robinson, TX to be near our
children and grandchildren: Kody
(15), Shanna (11) and Jacob (4 mo) whom we call Jake.
We strive for close family relationships and have been blessed and
successful these past 40 years. Mary
has been active professionally during all of these years and is making
plans for retirement soon. My
activities and/or hobbies include travel (fifth wheel), tennis and
fishing. We were both
involved with our 2 sons in junior tennis for 8 years while we were living
in Las Vegas, NV. It was
year-around travel throughout the intermountain area of the US.
We are now doing the same thing with our grandson, Kody. We can frequently be seen at major junior tennis tournaments
in Texas. Would
you believe that I still have one day a week for fishing, weather
permitting? I meet Mack Layne
(PHS class of ’59) at Lake Whitney for all day fishing and have been
doing this since 1994 … unbelievable!
Mack lives in Dallas. I have had and continue to live a super life. Mary and I recently celebrated 40 years together and have plans to upgrade our travel plans with a motor home. Like many others, we share the joys of watching our grandchildren become adults and continue life-cycle generations. UPDATE SINCE OUR 45th REUNION Mary & I have
been blessed with 2 new grandchildren, continued good health, and
whole lot of Good Times !!! Mary retired in April of 2005 and is
enjoying all the kids, gardening , and putting up with me ! UPDATE FOR OUR
50TH REUNION (As of 4/2/08) |
