This is where I’ve ended up and hope to semi-retire in the next two years.  What’s happened between the dear old Pampa high graduation and now is mostly a happy story with a few exceptions.

Kay Waggoner and I were married two years after graduation and were married for 26 years.  We had two children.  Jill is now 38, married to Ron Carl, and has two boys - Jacob (5) and Noah (2).  Chandler is 36, a most eligible bachelor, and has two daughters, Kaycie (15) and Erica (13).  

I was married 7/13/2002, (after 17 years of being an eligible bachelor), and acquired two stepdaughters, Molly (33), who is married to Greg and has a son Max (1), and Amber (27).  I also acquired two stepsons, Paul (30) and Gabe (30). Both Gabe and Amber have “significant others” and, with the exception of Paul, who is in medical school at Stanford, they all live in the Denver area.  

Kathryn and I just celebrated our first anniversary and look forward to retirement together, (if we can resolve our work addictions).  Our “first priority” is to enjoy our family, and we feel fortunate to have so much family so close. 

Kathryn is a physician’s assistant in adolescent medicine and, for the last 25 years I have been specializing in treating sexual addicts and offenders. We both have had rewarding careers, but “enough is enough” even if you are having fun. 

The exceptions to the fun were the death of my dad in 1980 and my brother Mark’s son being killed in an auto accident in September 2003. 

I’m looking forward to our 45^th  with great expectations and curiosity.

• Will I be the only one who is considering a hearing aide?

• Will anybody be able to remember anything?

• Will I recognize Frank Snow when I see him?

• Will we need assistance climbing the bleachers at harvester field?
